1. Information Collection and Use
The Application does NOT collect any personal information from its users. The Application does not gather information about pages visited, time spent, device IP addresses, or operating system data.
The only data stored by the Application is entered directly by the user and includes:
- Device names (custom labels assigned by the user)
- IP addresses of local network IoT devices
- Port numbers of local network IoT devices
- Application settings and preferences (e.g., active device selection)
- Onboarding completion status
This data is stored exclusively on the user's device using Android's local storage (Room Database and DataStore). It is never transmitted to any external server, cloud service, or third party.
2. How Your Data Is Used
All data stored by the Application is used solely for the following purposes:
- Establishing a WebSocket connection to the user's IoT device over a local Wi-Fi network
- Sending real-time control commands (directional commands, speed control, and custom function button inputs) to the connected device
- Remembering previously added devices for quick access in future sessions
- Storing user preferences such as active device selection
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
The Service Provider does NOT share, sell, rent, trade, or disclose any user data to any third party under any circumstances.
4. Data Transmission
The Application communicates exclusively with devices on the user's local private network via the WebSocket protocol. All communication occurs within the local network only.
The commands transmitted over the network include:
- Directional control commands (forward, backward, left, right, diagonal)
- Speed control values (V0–V9, VA)
- Custom function button inputs (F1, F2, F3 ON/OFF)
- Stop commands
These commands are sent only to the device address entered by the user and are not logged, stored, or transmitted to any external party.
The Application does NOT:
- Transmit data to any external server
- Use any cloud services
- Communicate over the public internet
- Send data to the developer or any third party
5. Network Communication
The Application enforces strict local network restrictions through built-in IP address validation. Only the following private IP address ranges are accepted:
The Application is designed and intended to operate exclusively within private local area networks. The Developer bears no responsibility for any consequences arising from attempts to use the Application outside of a local network.
6. Supported Devices
The Application is designed to work with any IoT development board or single-board computer capable of connecting to a local Wi-Fi network and running a WebSocket server. This includes but is not limited to:
- ESP32-based development boards capable of running a WebSocket server
- ESP8266-based development boards capable of running a WebSocket server
- Deneyap development boards (ESP32-based boards developed for Turkish national education and Deneyap workshops)
- Raspberry Pi with Wi-Fi and WebSocket server software
- Arduino (used for motor control in conjunction with a Wi-Fi-enabled microcontroller such as ESP8266 or ESP32)
- Any compatible Wi-Fi-enabled IoT board with WebSocket support and GPIO pins for vehicle control
The Service Provider makes no warranties regarding the compatibility, reliability, performance, or safety of any third-party hardware used with this Application.
7. Third-Party Services
The Application does NOT integrate any of the following:
- Analytics services (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics)
- Advertising networks
- Crash reporting services
- Social media SDKs
- Any other third-party tracking or data collection service
8. Permissions
The Application requests only the following Android permissions:
The Application does NOT request access to location, camera, microphone, contacts, storage, or any other sensitive device resource.
9. Data Storage and Security
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. All user data is stored locally on the user's device using:
- Room Database — for storing device information (name, IP address, port, active status)
- DataStore — for storing application preferences and onboarding completion status
The Service Provider has no access to any data stored by the Application. Data is never uploaded, backed up to external services, or shared in any way.
10. Opt-Out Rights
You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.
Users can also delete all stored data at any time by navigating to: Android Settings → Apps → ESP Car Controller → Storage → Clear Data
11. Data Retention Policy
All data stored by the Application remains on the user's device for as long as the Application is installed. The Service Provider does not retain any user data on external servers, as no data is ever transmitted outside the user's device.
If you'd like to delete all stored data, please use the Clear Data option described above, or contact the Service Provider at tanersenturk.developer@gmail.com.
12. Children and Age Requirements
• This Application is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older.
• Users under the age of 18 may only use this Application under the direct and continuous supervision of a responsible adult.
• The Application does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from any user regardless of age, as no personal data is collected at all.
Due to the nature of this Application — which involves real-time control of physical hardware such as vehicles, robots, and IoT devices — the Service Provider strongly recommends that all users under 18 years of age operate this Application only under adult supervision.
If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child is using this Application unsupervised, please ensure that a responsible adult is present and in control at all times.

14. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Any disputes arising from the use of this Application shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Turkish courts.
15. Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy.
Changes will take effect when the updated Privacy Policy is presented to the user within the Application upon the next update or launch. Continued use of the Application following any such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy is effective as of April 2026.
16. Your Consent
By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by the Service Provider.
Upon first launch, users are required to read and explicitly accept the Safety Guidelines, Disclaimer of Liability, and Terms of Use before using the Application. By accepting, users confirm that:
- They are 18 years of age or older, or are using this Application under the direct supervision of a responsible adult
- They have read, understood, and fully agree to the Safety Guidelines, Disclaimer of Liability, and all Terms of Use
- They acknowledge that the developer provides only a passive control interface and bears no responsibility for the design, safety, or behavior of any device they operate
- They accept full and sole responsibility for any consequences arising from their use of this Application
